Contest Regulations

 

Explanation of abbreviations and used terms:

The Organizer of the Contest- Podkarpacka Foundation for the Development of Culture (PFRK)

I. Organizer:

1. Podkarpacka Foundation for the Development of Culture, ul. 3 Maja 15/3,
38-500 Sanok.

 II. Aims of the contest:

  1. Distributing informationa about the 10th International Piano Forum „Bieszczady without boundaries” in Sanok.
  2. Popularization of knowledge about Fryderyk Chopin among primary school students.
  3. Promotion of artistic activity among primary school students.
  4. Increase of interest in classical music among primary school students.

 

III.Stages of the contest, the time and place:

  1. The contest is addressed to students of primary schools from Sanok.
  2. The term of the contest: from 01.12.2014  till 30.01.2015.
  3. The object of the contest is to prepare an artwork about the main theme „Chopin in a classical and jazz way”
  4. Information about the contest and regulations will be posted at the seat of the Foundation, on the organizer's website : www.chopin.interpiano.pl as well as on facebook fanpage . In addition: on the notice board and website of Primary Schools in Sanok.
  5. Prepared works collected by the teacher, you must hand in via mail or deliver personally to the Foundation (ul. 3 Maja 15/3, 38-500 Sanok) during working hours of the Foundation, that is from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. until 13.01.2015  (Tuesday);
  6. Evaluation and selection of the best works will be made by commission appointed by the Podkarpacka Foundation for the Development of Culture.

IV. Terms and Conditions of the contest:

  1. The works should present in an interesting and creative way the main theme of the 10th International Piano Forum „Bieszczady without boundaries” – „Chopin in a classical and jazz way”.
  2. Selected works may be used in promotional and informational campaigns and promotional and informational materials issued by the PFRK.
  3. The contest is open for all interested children.
  4. Delivered works should meet the following requirements:
  • The work should be done in any format, but not less than A4 (210 x 297 [mm]), with the use of technique: painting, drawing or sketch.
  • Each contestant may register to the contest only one work.
  • Each work may be made individually by one person (by using any technique).
  • On the reverse of the work must be bear the name of the author of work, class and the name, as well as a stamp of the primary school where attend the author of the work.
  1. The Commission shall elect among submitted works on the basis of the following criteria and assigned scores:
  • Compliance of the project with the formal requirements - Yes or No
    in the case of non-compliance, the work is not subject to further assessment
  • Compliance of works with the main theme of the contest, 1-3 points,
  • Creativity and originality, 1-3 points,
  1. The Commission decisions are taken by the sum of the results of the assessment of each work.
    In case of equal number of points,  then the commission decides about winning.
  2. Primary schools to which attend laureates will be informed by phone or in writing about laureates, the place and date of handing awards, no later than 5 days before the awards ceremony.
  3. In addition, a list of the awarded works will be posted on the organizer's website  www.chopin.interpiano.pl as well as on facebook fanpage.
  4. The participant does not incur any costs associated with the application to the Contest.
  5. Submission of a competition implies acceptance by the participant and his legal representatives all the conditions of these Regulations and is also a confirmation of the expression of their agreement to:
  • free, public visibility of the child's work  bearing the following personal information: child's name, year of birth, including on the Internet and in the press;
  • processing of personal data by the Organiser of each participant, including the child's name, year of birth for the purposes related to the organization of the contest.
  • to consolidate, use and reproduction of images, videos, etc., made  by the Organizer during the implementation of the contest.

 VI. Awards.

  1. It has been foreseen attractive prizes for 3 awarded participants from esch School taking part in the contest donated by the Sponsor– Adam Pałacki.
  2. Distinction for the best performers will also be publishing their works on the website of PFRK www.chopin.interpiano.pl as well as on facebook fanpage.
  3. In addition, the honored students and each school, which has registered the young people for this contest will receive a certificate of participation in the contest.

 V. Final provisions.

  1. Cases not covered by these regulations shall be settled by the Organizer of the Project.
