Contest Regulations

 

Explanation of abbreviations and used terms:

The Organizer of the Contest- Podkarpacka Foundation for the Development of Culture (PFRK)

I. Organizer:

1. Podkarpacka Foundation for the Development of Culture, ul. 3 Maja 15/3,
38-500 Sanok.

II. Aims of the contest:

  1. The contest is on a regional scale, and its aim is to promote knowledge about Frederick Chopin among junior high school students.

 

III. Stages of the contest, the time and place:

  1. The Contest  is directed to students from all Junior High Schools in Sanok.
  2. Duration of the contest: from 01.12.2014  to 07.02.2015
  3. The contest consists of:

- multiple-choice test

- open part

- listening part

  1. Information about the contest and regulations will be posted at the seat of the Foundation, on the organizer's website : www.interpiano.pl as well as on facebook fanpage. Moreover: on the notice board and websites of Junior High Scools in Sanok.
  2. The contest will be conducted in the following Schools that are qualified to participate in the contest:
  • Junior High School no. 1 named after Grzegorz from Sanok
  • Junior High School no. 2 maned after Queen Sofia in Sanok
  • Junior High School no. 3 in Sanok
  • Junior High School no. 4 named after the 6th Pomeranian Infantry Division in Sanok
  1. The School who joins to the Contest has the right to register of selected students from all classes by completing the application form available on the website of the organizer: www.chopin.interpiano.pl/aplikacja. The application form should indicate the names of students and their tutor until January, 9 2015.
  2. The selection of participants in the contest representing each School will be made by their tutors.
  3. The contest will take place within the each Junior High Schools in the same period for all of them, in 13.01.2015  (Tuesday).
  4. Resolved and signed works collected by the teacher should be sent by mail or delivered personally to the Foundation office (ul. 3 Maja 15/3, 38-500 Sanok) in the working hours of Foundation, that is from Monday till Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., until the day of 16.01.2015 (Friday);
  5. Assessment of works will make a commission appointed by Podkarpacka Foundation for the Development of Culture.
  6. The Commission will grant I, II, III place, and any number of awards.

IV. Terms and Conditions of the Contest:

  1. Participants - under the supervision of the School Contest Commission - complete the test individually of knowledge about the life and work of Frederic Chopin, prepared by the Organizer, including the listening part concerning the definition of types of pieces (there will be used the easiest types to identify: mazurka, waltz, polonaise, nocturne, ballade) as well as a title of composition.
  2. Members of School Competition Commission shall be appointed the Director of Junior High School.
  3. Time allowed for completing the test is 40 minutes.
  4. The paper should be signed by the participant and include the name of the school and the class to which the student attends and stamped with a school stamp.
  5. Quiz will be delivered to the school the day before the date of the contest.
  6. The content of the test questions will be developed on the basis of teaching materials, and provided to carers of participants from various Schools, and will also be available for download on the Organizer's website under the following address: www.chopin.interpiano.pl
  7. Answers of participants will be assessed by a 3-person jury according to 0-1 scoring for each closed question and 0-2 for open ones.
  8. The Commission decisions are taken by the sum of the results of the each work's assessment.
    In the event of equal number of points,  the commission shall decide about the winning.
  9. Schools, where attend laureates, will be informed by phone or in writing about the laureates, the place and date of handing awards, no later than 5 days before the awards ceremony.
  10. The participant does not bear any costs related to app registration for the Contest.

VI. Awards.

  1. Confirmation of participation in the Contest will be a commemorative diploma, whereas it's been foreseen material awards for 3 participants with the highest score from each facility involved in the contest:

1st award:           tablet

02.02.2015 - „Swinging Chopin” - in a classical and jazz way with the participation of Jazz Trio by Filip Wojciechowski

03.02.2015 - „Tatiana Shebanova in memoriam”

04.02.2015r. -„Muzyka 5-Kultur” z transmisją internetową on live

05.02.2015 - The Forum for Town - "AudioFeels - vocal play”

06.02.2015 - Maestra of Vocalism - Urszula Kryger (mezzosoprano)

07.02.2015r. - The Final Gala – „Chopin in a classical and jazz way” together with the „AKADEMIA” Lviv Chamber Orchestra

2nd award:         2 double invitations for the concert of "AudioFeels - vocal play” (05.02.2015)

3rd award:        2 double invitations for the concert „Grzegorz Turnau – bard with piano” (01.02.2015)

  1. In addition, each school that will report the students to the contest will receive a certificate of participation.
  2. Contest results will be announced on the website of the organizer: www.chopin.interpiano.pl as well as on the facebook fanpage within a week of its completion.
  3. Handing the main awards in the form of tablets will take place at the concert of Final Gala „Chopin in a classical and jazz way” on 07.02.2015 (Saturday).

V. Final provisions.

  1. Cases not covered by these regulations shall be resolved by the Project Organizer .
